We beat the January blues and headed for Paris to take in the delights of both Paris Deco Off and Maison et Objet.
The former sees all of the fabric, wall covering and interior showrooms reveal what’s new. We showroom hopped, enjoyed pop-up events and savoured the stylish streets of Saint-Germain.

From panoramic wall coverings, to painterly prints, we loved Pierre Frey’s vibrant and colourful “Mémoires Colorées” collection, admiring the creative, craftsmanship of the fabrics and papers on offer.

Both on the streets of Paris and at the Maison show, we felt surrounded by warming colours and tones. Interiors for 2026 are all about creating enveloping spaces that embrace rich, deep and indulgent layers.

Texture continues to feature heavily. Mixing materials of stone, timber, leather, fleece, linen and boucle. Tactile and textural reigns supreme, with plenty of layered finishes and touchable materials that turn vertical surfaces into sensory experiences. Parquet styled wall coverings make a statement on a single elevation and offer a stunning geometric backdrop.

Palettes of warm neutrals and tans, chocolate and mocha and plum brandy or burgundy, are at once cocooning and bring warmth and depth to living spaces. Other combinations of sage or olive green, mustard and burnt orange can link inside to outside living particularly well. This shift towards nature inspired palettes resonates well for us, surrounded as we are here in the west country with both countryside and seascapes in abundance.

Teal is back in favour again, did its appeal ever wane? This is a versatile colour for our interiors, striking, but not too loud, and pairs well with other hues – think burnt orange and fuchsia through to more neutral and natural pairings.
